History:
Firstly the Cricket was introduced by North America via the English Colonies as early as the 17th century, and it becomes a country's national sport in the 18th century and after in the 19th and 20th centuries, it developed Globally. 
The first match was played by members of the Royal Amateur Society on Hampton Court Green, august 3rd 1836.
Cricket becomes an international sport:
The popularity of this sport is increasing and Cricket becomes an International Sport. The first international match has played between the US and Canada in 1844. The match was played in New York. In 1859 a team of English went to North America on the first overseas tour. The first Test Match played between England and Australia at Melbourne Ground on 5th January 1971.
The match between England and Australia gave birth to The Ashes in 1882. And after that, the test format becomes the most famous contest. This Sport began to grow in 1888-89 when South Africa played England. The test format continuously grows in the 20th Century in addition to West Indies (1928), New Zealand (1930), and India (1932) before the Second World War and then Pakistan(1952), Sri Lanka (1982), Zimbabwe(1992), Bangladesh(2000) and so on. South Africa was banned from in1970 to 1992 as part of the apartheid boycott. And by this way, It's becoming an International Sport. Now we see the craze of this sport and it's increasing day by day.
The Trend of limited over:
This game gets entering in a new era in 1963 when England countries introduced the limited over format. Because of this trend the match get sure to produce results, these limited-overs were advantageous and so the number of matches increased. The first limited-over match was played in 1971 and by the governing International Cricket Council(ICC), seeing its potential, and then the first limited-overs World Cup was held in 1975.
In today's world, the different types of Limited Overs trend have start and we called it One Day match or 50-50 overs. After that, the trend is increasing and now in the 21st century, the Twenty 20 format begins. This 20-20 format made an immediate impact on the cricket world. And now we see the different types of Leagues and Championships Trophy formats.

In this, the principles of the game are mentioned during a code called The Laws Of Cricket which features a worldwide remit. In that rule,s 42 laws (always written in capital L). The all Rules and Regulation is under the Marylebone Cricket Club in London.
Women's Cricket:
The first women's cricket was recorded in surrey in 1745. In the 20th century, international development began and the first Test Match played between England and Australia in1934. And the following year New Zealand women joined them and after that other teams also joined. 1958 the International Women's Cricket Council have established. After that in 2005, this council merged in ICC. And after that, all formats of women's cricket get starting.

The ICC is the global governing body in the world and its headquarter is in Dubai. The ICC in 2017 has 105 members nation and out of that 12 are hold full body membership and can play Test Cricket. The all the major tournaments the ICC is responsible for the governance of all the men's and women's matches and the World Cup. It also appoints umpires and referees to officiate that each one sanctioned tests, limited-overs, and 20-20 international matches.
In that, the different countries are different Governing body like follow.
India- Board Of Control For Cricket In India(BCCI).England- England And Wales Cricket BoardAustralia- Cricket Australia. similar for other Countries also like that.
